Senior Teachers Dan Grade Syllabus


1st KYU to 1st DAN
  • Demonstrate any techniques of the examiners’ choice from the senior set syllabus
  • Demonstrate NAGE-NO-KATA in full or teach it through PUPILS
  • Hold a BASIC REFEREE’S LICENSE and BASIC TIMEKEEPER AWARD
  • Hold a recognised FIRST AID AWARD
Produce a presentation (IN WRITTEN FORMAT)  of a weekly one hour lesson. Each session must include exercises, one throwing technique and one restraining technique.

1st DAN to 2nd DAN
MUST HAVE HELD 1ST DAN FOR A PERIOD OF NO LESS THAN 2 YEARS
  • Demonstrate any techniques of the examiners’ choice from the senior set syllabus
  • Demonstrate KATAME-NO-KATA in full or teach it through PUPILS
  • Hold a REGIONAL REFEREE’S LICENSE and INTERMEDIATE TIMEKEEPER AWARD
  • Hold a recognised FIRST AID AWARD
Produce a presentation (IN WRITTEN FORMAT) of a weekly one hour and half lesson. Must include exercises, two throwing techniques, one restraining technique and one shime-waza FOR JUNIORS 3 KYU AND UP TO 3 KYU SENIORS

2nd DAN to 3rd DAN
MUST HAVE HELD 2nd DAN FOR A PERIOD OF NO LESS THAN 3 YEARS
  • Demonstrate any techniques of the examiners’ choice from the senior set syllabus
  • Demonstrate KAESHI-NO-KATA in full or teach it through PUPILS
  • Hold a NATIONAL REFEREE’S LICENSE and ADVANCED TIMEKEEPER AWARD
  • Hold a recognised FIRST AID AWARD
Produce a presentation of a TWO x two hour training sessions IN WRITTEN FORMAT. To include exercises, four throwing techniques, three restraining techniques and three shime-waza - FOR JUNIOR 2 KYU UP IST KYU SENIORS

3rd DAN to 4th DAN
MUST HAVE HELD 3rd DAN FOR A PERIOD OF NO LESS THAN 4 YEARS
  • Demonstrate any techniques of the examiners choice from the senior set syllabus
  • Demonstrate JUNO-NO-KATA in full or teach it through PUPILS
  • Hold an INTERNATIONAL REFEREE’S LICENSE and ADVANCED TIMEKEEPER AWARD, and ORGANISED A REGIONAL EVENT (this could be a training course)
  • Hold a recognised FIRST AID AWARD
Produce a presentation for a teaching course of your choice; this could be a kata, refereeing or first aid course. Presentation to be in written format and to INCLUDE DIAGRAMS

4th DAN to 5th DAN
MUST HAVE HELD 4TH DAN FOR A PERIOD OF NO LESS THAN 5 YEARS
  • Demonstrate any techniques of the examiners choice from the senior set syllabus
  • Demonstrate KIME-NO-KATA in full BY TEACHING IT TO A CLASS
  • Hold an INTERNATIONAL REFEREE’S LICENSE and ADVANCED TIMEKEEPER AWARD, and ORGANISED A NATIONAL EVENT (this could be a training course or a competition)
  • Hold a recognised FIRST AID AWARD
TEACH AT AN AREA EVENT and BE ACCESSED BY NATIONAL COACH on TECHNIQUE, DELIVERY and INTEGRATION OF ALL GRADES

THIS GRADE AND ABOVE CAN ONLY BE AWARDED BY YOUR PEERS FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SERVICES 


NOTE IN EXCEPTIONAL CASES THE TECHNICAL BOARD IN FULL AGREEMENT CAN WAIVER THE TIME PERIOD BETWEEN GRADES
